  Biography

Chad Kohler currently serves as the Director of Athletic Bands and Percussion at Fishers High School. Chad co-directs the concert band program including five concert bands. Chad also serves as the Director of the Fishers Marching TIGER Band and Percussion Ensembles. The Fishers Marching TIGER Band has been an ISSMA State Finalist as well as BOA Regional and Super Regional Finalist. The Fishers percussion ensembles have consistently won the Indiana Percussion Association State Championship in recent years. His ensembles have been a WGI world-class National Finalist as well as Regional Champions. The Fishers Drumline also performed for the Bridgestone Madonna Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Chad received his Bachelors in Music Education and Percussion Performance from University of Kentucky studying under James Campbell and Masters of Music from the University of Akron studying under Dr. Larry Snider. Chad has performed and instructed the Cavaliers a Drum and Bugle Corps, served as Percussion Caption Head for the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps and had adjudicated for the Drum Corps activity. In addition, Chad regularly performs throughout the Indianapolis area most consistently with the Nickel Plate Jazz Orchestra and Fishers Wind Symphony. In addition to teaching and performing, Chad composes and arranges for multiple ensembles throughout the Midwest.

Prior to Fishers High School, Chad served as the Percussion Director for Lawrence Central High School. Chad is blessed serve as an Educational Clinician for Conn-Celmer, Ludwig-Musser and Educational Artist with the Remo Corporation and Innovative Percussion.

Chad also served on the Board of Directors for the Indiana Percussion Association and the Indiana Chapter of Percussive Arts Society. Chad is a member of Indiana Music Educators Association, MENC and PAS.

This includes being a partner in the community to build relationships for sponsorship development and retention.

This clinic provides new and existing directors strategies and insight into, acquiring your percussion instruments, proper maintenance, hiring a percussion director, implementing a well versed program from concert to marching arts, complete with a collection of instructional, solo and ensemble repertoire to move your percussionists from 6th grade through 12th and beyond.
